Hi. I am BJ Stewart. Here’s a little about me and why I started Khala Naturals back in 2016.
I grew up on a farm in Midwestern Ontario with my parents and younger sister.
Since 1999 I have worked all kinds of strange shifts in my television production career, and in turn, that affected my quality of life; poor food choices, lack of exercise and sleep.
It all came to a head in 2010 where I found myself starting to experience health issues.
I shed fifty pounds, started yoga, running, and eventually CrossFit. I left my full-time job to start freelancing at various places, became a CrossFit trainer, and wrote two cookbooks.
I was so concerned about what went into my body that I started wondering about what I put ON my body. When I started investigating, I couldn't believe my "green" and "organic" products were not as good as I thought they were.
My friend, Michelle, sent me recipes for all sorts of healthy things including natural Gatorade, coconut milk body washes with honey, and a bar shampoo.
My mind was blown away. I needed to make my own soap!
I bought the lye and equipment and let it sit in the corner for three weeks before I made my first batch.
From there it was all-systems go! I experimented. I read. I experimented some more. I grew my own herbs in planter boxes I made with my handy parents. All this started in 2016.
My products are all-natural. No synthetics. Mainly organic. All handmade. Everything is made in-house including label design, website updating, knit and crocheted items, packaging and posting both online and to the post office.
I absolutely believe in my products and my mission to create safe and and natural products for you and your loved ones.
All natural. Always.
